Missing tortoise has been in the family for over 60 years. Completely disappeared Saturday lunchtime 21st September. 10 days later, a second, larger tortoise disappeared. Shortly before discovering 2nd tortoise missing, I had returned from a short trip out and disturbed a man in a white van, who had parked across the end of our driveway. He ran to the van and drove off. When looking for the 2nd missing tortoise, I checked towards the end of the (long, and far from tortoise run) driveway, and missing tortoise was in the grass at the side of the drive. So over winter, our remaining 2 tortoises are somewhere safe. But we now suspect the original missing tortoise was stolen. Unfortunately dashcam footage of man in white van not clear enough for identification.
Small Mediterranean tortoise, about 6 inches long.
