Sadly on the 09/09 I found a small black cat with a lemon coloured collar on Howdon Road just down from Percy Main park ran over. I wrapped the cat into a blanket and took it to Ayres Veterinary Hospital in North Shields (0191 258 6886) but sadly no chip. I have knocked on all the doors in Nelson Crescent and St James Terrace but no one knows who owns the cat. The vets have advised they will freeze the cat for 2 weeks in the hope of reuniting it with its owner.
