Found Bird Parrot, Parakeet from Vale Of Health Pond Hampstead Heath Greater London NW3
This found Parrot, Parakeet Bird was found around Vale Of Health Pond Hampstead Heath Greater London NW3
Numbers on leg ring are possibly
084 BOF AS247
The photo was taken 10 july around 16:30 at the dog swimming end by the drainage pipe
Bird was in the tree watching the dogs in the pond
Seemed calm and I presumed quite tame
I left to walk around for 30-40 mins
When I got back to Vale of Health pond the parrot was lying in the shallows at the edge. no sign of life.
No obvious sign of injury
I presume it came down to the water and was grabbed by a dog
I have left the bird behind a wire fence on a concrete slab above the water exit pipe
Probably won't last long there due to the many foxes around there
sorry did not have means to take the bird with me
local heath police have been sent these details too
(HH-Constabulary@cityoflondon.gov.uk)
the photo attached i took about 45 mins before found the bird in the water
number on leg ring possibly
084 BOF AS247
had another number which was 14 i'm guessing is year of birth
